About the program:
Carlton is dedicated to stopping violence before it starts. Road to Respect is an educational program which aims to inspire a generation of young people through quality tools and resources to contribute to the development of future positive relationships.
The program is an interactive digital learning platform and face-to-face program, designed for primary school students in Grade 3 to 6 and aligns with the Victorian Government’s Department of Education and Training’s ‘Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships’ curriculum.

Session one:
Managing your emotion
Students gain a more in-depth understanding of the fluctuating nature of emotions and how they can be portrayed, as well as a range of strategies to manage difficult emotions.

Session two:
Bullying and
help-seeking
Students gain tools to recognise bullying in its varying forms and identify where and how to seek support.

Session three:
Being a buddy and
stereotypes
Students learn the behaviours associated with being an active bystander and are prompted to identify common gender stereotypes along with their potential negative impacts.

Session four:
Values and
respects
Students learn the difference between values and characteristics, what equality is and how to make sure they treat everyone equally and with respect.
