about the program

Road to Respect was designed closely with the experts, developed with advice from the
Department of Education, La Trobe University and Our Watch to ensure it meets best practice and aligns with the ‘Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships’ curriculum.

the program

Session one:
Managing your emotion

Students gain a more in-depth understanding of the fluctuating nature of emotions and how they can be portrayed, as well as a range of strategies to manage difficult emotions.

Session two:
Bullying and
help-seeking

Students gain tools to recognise bullying in its varying forms and identify where and how to seek support.

Session three:
Being a buddy and
stereotypes

Students learn the behaviours associated with being an active bystander and are prompted to identify common gender stereotypes along with their potential negative impacts.

Session four:
Values and
respects

Students learn the difference between values and characteristics, what equality is and how to make sure they treat everyone equally and with respect.

What schools are saying

It is fantastic to have an influential sporting group such as Carlton support this work in schools as the voice of their football idols carry a great deal of weight with all of our students.

I think it’s important because we need to teach equality to students because we can’t necessarily learn it outside of the school grounds.

Grade 6 Student

Overall, this program was exceptional and could not recommend more.
