THE ORANGE flags were flying high for the third annual Carlton Respects AFLW Game at Ikon Park on Saturday night.

Supporters of both the Blues and the Saints flocked to Ikon Park wearing a touch of orange to show their support for Carlton Respects, promoting gender equality for the prevention of violence against women.

Carlton Respects ambassador Simone O’Brien, a survivor of domestic violence and advocate for the prevention of violence against women, was the guest of honour for the night. O’Brien was invited to participate in the Ring of Honour, ringing the old Carlton timekeeper’s bell to kick off the evening.

In an incredible demonstration of support, O’Brien was also invited to run through the Carlton Respects banner alongside the entire Blues AFLW team, arm-in-arm with twin stars Sarah and Jess Hosking.

The Carlton Football Club would like to thank all the supporters who came down to the game and who helped to raise over $600 for the Carlton Respects initiative through gold coin donations.

The money raised will go towards delivering the Carlton Respects Schools Program to students, teaching them about the importance of gender equality.
