On Saturday 20 February, the Carlton Football Club hosted their fourth annual Carlton Respects AFLW Game against Richmond at Ikon Park.

The clash is dedicated to promoting gender equality for the prevention of violence against women.

Violence against women is a widespread problem in Australia, with enormous individual and community impacts; On average, one woman a week is killed by a current or former partner.

The game saw more than 2000 supporters in attendance, with many supporters from both Carlton and Richmond waving their orange flags in support of gender equality.

To conclude a fantastic Carlton Respects match, the Blues overcame a fast-starting Richmond side to come away with a 5-point win.
