ON Monday 26 November, Carlton Football Club hosted a morning tea to celebrate the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

The global campaign runs from International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25) to Human Rights Day (December 10) symbolizing the link between freedom from violence as a human right.

At the morning tea Carlton Football Club staff and representatives from corporate sponsors were addressed by Carlton CEO, Cain Liddle and special guest Dr Cuong La, Senior Advisor, Practice Leadership at Our Watch.

Liddle provided a strong reminder of the club’s commitment to Carlton Respects which aims to promote gender equality for the prevention of violence against women.

Dr La provided professional development for those attending, with a focus on non-physical forms of violence.
