Term three has been a busy one with Carlton Football Club facilitators delivering the Blues Foundation’s Sound Mind, Sound Body and Sound Community (SMSBSC) Community Education Program.

SMSBSC focuses on building resilience in young people to prevent social exclusion. SMSBSC seeks to increase the health and wellbeing of young people, focusing on prevention and potential indicators of poor mental health, using football as the platform.

SMSBSC was delivered to 995 grade five & six students across 11 schools, investing 413 hours into the community.

Teachers who have observed the delivery of the program to their students throughout the year have been impressed by the content and facilitation;

I think that the learning was well thought out and really relates to core things that students can and should be doing to lead positive and healthy lives.”
